Harmony Cottage, a dog and family-friendly holiday cottage in Lostwithiel, Cornwall

Bringing your dog

One of the best things about a holiday in Cornwall is the number of amazing walks that are right on your doorstep, and enjoying these with your pet is the ultimate escapism. And because Cornwall is popular with dog walkers, it's an incredibly dog-friendly place to visit. There are many dog-friendly beaches nearby, and shops and cafes in many of the surrounding towns are dog-friendly too, so you can take your pet along with you for almost anything you want to do.

In the cottage, dog bowls and a feeding mat are provided, to help make your pet feel as at home as you do. You can leave your dog unaccompanied in the cottage for short periods - although we ask that you only do this if your dog is not destructive. Stair gates are provided, so you can limit your dog to the kitchen area when left, in case of accidents.

There is no garden at Harmony Cottage, but the river is very close for a short comfort break for your dog, and a number of longer walks can also found on the doorstep. When heading further afield with your pet, places you simply must visit include nearby National Trust property Lanhydrock which has a number of dog-friendly areas, Par Sands beach for a sandy run, and if you're travelling to North Cornwall, Tintagel Castle is a great place to explore with your pet. More information on these and other dog-friendly beaches and attractions are available at the cottage.

Terms and conditions

As dog owners ourselves, we want Harmony Cottage to be truly dog-friendly. To enable us to achieve this, we do have to have some rules for pets staying at the cottage. Please read the section regarding pets on our booking terms and conditions (PDF, 130KB) and ensure you are able to meet these requirements before booking.
